Saints tight end Deion Schultz, who missed four games with a sprained left ankle, will miss four games because of an Achilles injury, the team announced.
The team announced Tuesday that he would miss four weeks with a torn Achilles tendon.
The timetable for Schultz to return to action is unknown.
He suffered the injury Tuesday against the Dallas Cowboys, and the team said he would not play in Sunday’s loss to the Los Angeles Chargers.
The team will evaluate Schultz further this week.
The Saints were without quarterback Drew Brees, who has missed the past two games because the team is dealing with a lingering toe injury.
Brees will be evaluated by team doctors and will be out for at least a month.
