A leaking oil pipeline that leaked oil from a blue devil oil station in Michigan has been repaired, but is the source of the problem still unknown?
A spokesperson for the state of Michigan said on Wednesday that the leak had been fixed and that a repair team was working to repair the leak.
However, the spokesperson also noted that the state does not have the final answer yet.
“The Michigan Department of Environmental Quality has inspected the pipeline and identified a problem with the leak,” the spokesperson said in a statement.
“The company that operates the pipeline is continuing to work with the Department to repair and restore the leak.”
Michigan has not yet confirmed if the leak was caused by corrosion or by faulty welding.
It was not immediately clear how long the pipeline remained open and if it could be repaired.
The Michigan state Department of Transportation has said it has shut down all of the Blue Devil oil service stations and the company that owns the pipeline, Blue Devil, has said the leak is being investigated.
