Liverpool striker Roberto Firmineo has confirmed his son and son-in-law were the ones who discovered the slabs at his home.
In a statement to Liverpoolfc.com, Firminone, who has been away on international duty with Spain’s under-21s, confirmed his children, 18-year-old son Lucas and 24-year old daughter Miquel, were at the home on Saturday.
He said: “My wife, Miquelo, and I had been living with the family for three days and when we went to the door, the two of them came up.”
They said: ‘Hi, we’ve found a slab on your house’.
I said: ‘(I don’t know if I can say this but) thank you very much for the offer.’
“After we had finished the conversation, I went to get the children and put them in the car.”
We were all so excited and we had no idea what we were going to find.
We were at a loss for words.
“I am very happy for Lucas and Miquela because they have been through a lot together.”
Firminone has been out of action since January after a knee injury.
He had previously said he was confident he would be back by the end of the month.
