On Thursday, a leaked video appeared to show a motorist in New Jersey driving in a slow-moving truck that was apparently leaking water from a tire.
In a statement, Evap told reporters that the truck’s driver was arrested on Thursday after the incident.
The truck driver was cited for reckless driving, but was released without being charged.
The video was uploaded to YouTube by an unidentified user.
Evap said the driver was later found to have been drinking water from the truck.
The company is working with local authorities to determine the cause of the leak.
Evapo also released a statement about the leak, which is likely a separate incident.
“As a company, we take this issue very seriously and will take swift action to investigate and root out the cause,” the statement read.
“We are working with law enforcement to ensure the safety of all involved and to provide our customers with as much information as possible to protect them.”
Evap, which owns two other trucking companies in New England, told The Associated Press that it had no comment on the video.
The owner of the video said he was only recording the trucker driving because he felt like he had to.
Evapi said he plans to issue a statement to customers on Friday.
